Daktronics ProStar® technology to illuminate the NCAA College World Series and other events at Rosenblatt Stadium

BROOKINGS, S.D. - Dec. 19, 2005 - Daktronics, Inc. (Nasdaq - DAKT) announced today that it will design and manufacture an integrated scoring and video system for Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Neb., the long-time home of the College World Series.

"The City of Omaha is pleased to announce this significant upgrade to Rosenblatt Stadium as we prepare for the fifty-sixth year of hosting the NCAA College World Series," said Mike Fahey, mayor of Omaha. "Daktronics is well known for its experience and amazing video technology and we are excitedly anticipating the installation of the new system. The size of the screen, its clarity and color capability will greatly add to the atmosphere and the enjoyment of our fans."

"Omaha's Rosenblatt Stadium is an incredible venue for baseball and Daktronics is proud to help build on the stadium's great traditions," said Tony Mulder, regional sales manager for Daktronics. "Fans will love the added entertainment the new display system will provide."

The new video screen will be installed behind the left field seats where the existing scoreboard now stands. With an active area of more than 1,550 square feet (27 feet 7 inches high by 56 feet 6 inches wide), the new ProStar® screen will provide fans with larger than life video images. With more than 830,000 individual red, green and blue light emitting diodes (LEDs) to compose the images and information shown, fans will enjoy the high resolution imagery the large video screen will provide.

The word "ROSENBLATT" will adorn the top of the video screen, spelled out in decorative illuminated channel letters measuring 4 feet high. The back of the display will also identify Rosenblatt Stadium as the "Home of the NCAA Men's College World Series". The top of the structure will rise more than 75 feet above grade when installed.

ProStar® VideoPlus technology, HD-ready and available only from Daktronics, uses the latest in red, green and blue (RGB) LED technology to present live and recorded video images, colorful animation and vivid graphics with incredible brightness and wide angle visibility. The size of the Rosenblatt screen, and the capabilities of the Daktronics control system, will allow for the display to be split-screened to show multiple windows of information and stats along with live and recorded video.

The new displays will be operated with Daktronics proven Venus® controller and V-Link® video processor. The V-Link® LED video processor accepts live video feeds, both standard and high definition, and enhances those signals to ensure true-to-life image reproduction on any full-color LED video display.

Daktronics will also provide a new fixed digit baseball scoreboard that will be installed above the first base line. The scoreboard will also use LED technology to display team names, line score and other game in progress information.
