Brookings, S.D. - June 1, 2004 - Daktronics, Inc. (Nasdaq - DAKT) of Brookings, S.D., will highlight the proven ProStar® technology and the V-Net™ narrowcasting system during the 2004 InfoComm exhibition at the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, Ga., June 9-11.
Daktronics booth, #4847, will incorporate a high-resolution ProStar® VideoPlus display with cutting-edge, true three millimeter pixel-to-pixel spacing. As the tightest pitch in the industry, three millimeter displays use three-in-one light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to combine red, green and blue light into full-color video, images and graphics. Designed for indoor use, three millimeter ProStar® displays' outstanding clarity and resolution make them suitable for viewing distances as short as two meters.
ProStar® technology has been installed in over 1,000 applications worldwide, including displays for sporting venues of all sizes, commercial businesses and spectacular signs in prominent locations like Times Square and Las Vegas. As the industry's leading large screen LED video technology, ProStar displays feature up to 4.3 trillion color capability, a flexible modular design and a variety of pixel pitches including 3, 6, 10, 12, 16.5, 20, 23, 34, 46 and 89 millimeter.
Other technologies to be featured at Daktronics booth include the V-Net™ narrowcasting system and the V-Play® system for broadcast.
The V-Net™ narrowcasting system consists of a V-Net™ central server and multiple V-Net™ remote players. Scheduled advertisements and real-time data presentations prepared on the central server transfer over an existing computer network to individual or grouped remote players, which send content to one or more plasma, projection, liquid crystal or CRT display devices. Networked narrowcasting systems offer the ability to alter promotional messages quickly and without the costs associated with static signage replacement.
Designed for on-the-fly video control, the V-Play® system for broadcast offers cutting-edge video playback, recording, and editing technology, as well as instant replay, an advanced character generator program, switcher and deck control.
Daktronics booth staff will give live demonstrations of the V-Play® and V-Net™ systems. Content from the software will be delivered to Daktronics 40-inch LCD panels.
