Daktronics awarded contract for Arizona Cardinals new stadium

Brookings, S.D. - April 14, 2004 - Daktronics, Inc. (Nasdaq - DAKT) announced it has been chosen to provide an integrated scoring, video and information display system for the new Arizona Tourism and Sports Authority/Cardinals Stadium under construction in Glendale, Ariz. The value of the project is approximately $5.1 million. The new home of the Arizona Cardinals is scheduled to open in the fall of 2006.
The integrated system will include two large end-zone scoreboards with multiple electronic displays, fascia displays, NFL play clocks, NFL delay of game clocks, locker room clocks, ticket window displays and control system components.

"Cardinals Stadium will be a fantastic venue, and we're proud to have been chosen to design and build this unique super system that's fitting for such a facility."
The south end zone display will measure approximately 32 feet high by 145 feet wide, and will incorporate a Daktronics ProStar® VideoPlus display measuring approximately 27 feet high by 96 feet wide. The north end zone scoreboard will measure approximately 27 feet high by 81 feet wide, incorporating a ProStar® display measuring approximately 22 feet 6 inches high by 40 feet wide. Both end-zone scoreboards also incorporate fixed backlit and rotating advertising panels, as well as specially designed support structures and catwalks.
Four large fascia displays will provide additional information and images for fans. Each of the electronic displays will measure approximately 3 feet 6 inches high by 50 feet wide, flanked with channel letter advertising signage.
Daktronics control system components will be used to integrate and operate the Daktronics displays and clocks throughout the facility. Control components will include All Sport® game in progress control consoles, Venus® 7000 matrix controllers, V-Link® video processors, and additional hardware and software to interface, format and automatically display data from the NFL's official statistics provider and other sports data from a wire service.
About Cardinals Stadium
The Cardinals' new home, the site of the 2008 Super Bowl, will have permanent seating for 63,000 fans. The state-of-the-art facility will feature a natural grass field that can be rolled in and out of the facility for various events. The stadium incorporates a unique design with a retractable roof. The roof can be closed at the facility and air conditioned during summer months, and opened to take advantage of the area's well-known climate in cooler months.
